Yesterday, our Prior Mauritius Wilde OSB was honored to accompany his confrere, Fr. Anselm Grün OSB, to a private audience with Pope Francis. The Holy Father thanked Fr. Anselm for his work as an author, and said to him, in Italian, “Lei è un monaco che non ha paura”, which means, in English, “You are a monk who is not afraid”.
Father Anselm, a monk of Abtei Münsterschwarzach in Germany, studied at the Pontifical Athenaeum Sant’Anselmo from 1967-1971. His moderators were Father Magnus Löhrer OSB and Father Basil Studer OSB.
