On the occasion of the Solemnity of Sant’Anselmo, the community of Sant’Anselmo was blessed with an article by Antonio Tarallo entitled “Sant’Anselmo on the Aventine, when singing makes you love God”. Tarallo writes:
“On the Aventine stands the church of Sant’Anselmo, which, together with the adjoining monastery, is the seat of the Abbot Primate of the Benedictine Order. From these walls Gregorian chant resounds strongly, giving glory to God and helping to love Him. A bit like a prayer from the saint to whom the church is dedicated and whose liturgical memorial recurs today.”

Last Saturday, 5 October, the Sant'Anselmo community gathered for the inaugural session of Conversazioni Anselmiane, a new series aimed at bringing insights from the Assembly of the Synod of Bishops directly to campus.
On 14 September 2024, Abbot Jeremias Schröder OSB, of St. Ottilien Archabbey in Eresing, Germany, was elected abbot primate of the Benedictine Confederation at the Congress of Abbots meeting in Rome. He is the 11th abbot primate to be elected. Story and photos here.
