Early in October, two newly-ordained residents celebrated their first Masses at Sant’Anselmo. Fathers Gregorio Carrizal, of Christ in the Desert, and John George, of the Abbey of Saint Gregory the Great, continued the Catholic tradition of blessing those in attendance. On 17 October, the Sant'Anselmo community gathered for the second session of Conversazioni Anselmiane, a new series designed to bring insights from the Synod of Bishops directly to campus. This conversation featured Prof. Dr. Thomas Söding, a German Catholic theologian and senior professor of New Testament exegesis at Ruhr University Bochum.

On 14 September 2024, Abbot Jeremias Schröder OSB, of St. Ottilien Archabbey in Eresing, Germany, was elected abbot primate of the Benedictine Confederation at the Congress of Abbots meeting in Rome. He is the 11th abbot primate to be elected. Story and photos here.
